Goals of the Disaster – ConsultSyariah.com

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala tests His servants with various forms of calamity that He wills, various difficulties and trials. It’s just that it is not the initial goal of this wise sharia, but is a derivative goal, or a goal that is only a means and not the main goal. Because, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, the Most High, made it a means to realize the goals of the Shari’a, and its purpose is to create goodness for believers, as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said:

Maybe you don’t like something even though it is good for you.

“It’s possible that you hate something even though it’s good for you.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 216).

So maybe you hate something and God will create a lot of good in it.

“It could be that you don’t like something even though God has made it a lot of goodness.” (QS. An-Nisa: 19).

The following are some of the purposes for which calamities are revealed directly in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW:

  1. Be a reminder for careless people

There may be a servant who is negligent towards Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, neglects his obligations, is busy with the trappings of worldly life, and drowns in his lust, but when a disaster befalls him, he immediately wakes up from his negligence, feels his weakness and helplessness, until he returns to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala full of repentance and asking for forgiveness, standing at His door hoping for His mercy. In this case Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said:

And We tested them with good deeds and bad deeds so that they would return.

“We tested them with good deeds and bad deeds so that they would return (to the truth).” (QS. Al-A’raf: 168).

Namely, We test them with pleasure and calamity, difficulty and ease, so that they stop from disbelief and disobedience. (Shafwah At-Tafasir by Muhammad Ali Ash-Shabuni” volume 1 p. 443).

One of the aims of this test is to save the servants from being held captive by Satan, to free them from the shackles of desire and desire, to awaken them from the slumber of forgetfulness, so that they return to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, draw closer to Him, and try to improve their relationship with Him, so that their condition improves. Ibn Athaillah As-Sakandari said: “Whoever does not approach Allah with gentleness and kindness, he will be dragged to Him by a chain of trials.” (Hikam Ibn Athaillah as-Sakandari p. 62).

  1. Purification of believers

Among the forms of mercy from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to His faithful servants is that when He wants to purify them from the influence of their sins, He will afflict them with a little misfortune, as mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam:

No fatigue, illness, anxiety, sadness, harm, or grief befalls a Muslim, not even a prick of a thorn, but Allah erases some of his sins because of it.

“Not a Muslim is struck by fatigue, illness, anxiety, sadness, annoyance, or distress, or even a thorn that pricks him, but with that Allah will erase some of his sins.” (HR. Al-Bukhari and Muslim). He also said:

Suffering continues to befall the believer, both male and female, on himself, his children and his property, until he meets God Almighty, and he has no sin whatsoever on him.

“Tests will continue to befall a believer and believer regarding himself, his children, and his property, until he meets God in a sinless state.” (HR. At-Tirmidhi no. 2399).

It was narrated from a Salaf, he said: “If it were not for the world’s calamities, we would surely come bankrupt on the Day of Judgment.”

  1. Filter out those who are patient

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala tests His servants to refine their faith, sort out their positions, and show them who is patient when disaster strikes. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:

And We will certainly test you until We know which of you strives and who is patient, and We will test your reports.

“And indeed We will truly test you, until We know which of you is diligent and patient, and We will test (reveal) your condition.” (QS. Muhammad: 31).

Al-Hasan Al-Basri Rahimahullah said: “People are in a state of full enjoyment, then when disaster strikes, their true nature is revealed.” (Syaid Al-Khathir the work of Imam Ibn Al-Jauzi p. 139).

People who are patient when disaster strikes will be privileged with many divine blessings, and extensive gifts from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, including:

God’s love for them and they are always accompanied by God in a special way

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:

They do not become weak when what befalls them in the way of Allah, nor do they become weak, nor do they give up. And Allah loves those who are patient.

“Therefore they do not become weak from what befalls them in the way of Allah, and they do not become weak and (nor) despair; and Allah loves those who are patient.” (QS. Ali Imran: 146). Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala also said:

O believers, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.

“O you who believe! Ask for help patiently and pray, indeed Allah is with those who are patient.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 153).

And be patient, for Allah is with those who are patient

“And be patient, indeed Allah is with those who are patient.” (QS. Al-Anfal: 46).

Their rank is elevated

In the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu ‘anhu, it is stated that Rasulullah SAW said:

A person has a position with God, and whatever he achieves with his actions, God will continue to test him with what he does not like until he achieves it.

“Indeed, a person has a position with Allah that he cannot achieve with his deeds, so Allah continues to test him with something he does not like, until He hands him over to that position.” (Authenticated by Al-Albani in As-Silsilah ash-Sahihah NO. 2599).

The people who are closest to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and have the highest rank are the prophets and apostles, because they are the people who have been tested the hardest, as stated by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam.

Get success

There was a man who asked Imam Asy-Shafi’i: “O Abu Abdillah! Which is better for a person, being given success or being tested?” Imam ash-Shafi’i then answered: “A person will not be given success until he is tested first. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala gave tests to the Prophets Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad Alaihimussalam, and when they were patient, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala gave them success, so no one should think that they will be completely safe from pain.” (Al-Fawaid by Imam Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah p. 222).

Get forgiveness of sins, multiplication of rewards, and happy good news

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:

And We will certainly test you with fear, hunger, and loss of wealth, lives, and fruits. But convey good news to those who are patient * to those who, when disaster strikes. They said, “Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him we will return.” It is they who receive blessings from their Lord and His mercy, and they are the ones who receive guidance.

“And indeed, We will test you with a little fear, hunger, lack of wealth, life and fruit. And give good news to those who are patient, namely those who, when calamity befalls them, say: ‘Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we will return.’ They are the ones who receive perfect favors and mercy from their Lord, and they are the ones who are guided.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 155-157). Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala also said:

No, those who are patient and do good deeds, then they are the ones who receive forgiveness and a great reward.

“Except for those who are patient and do good deeds, they will receive forgiveness and a great reward.” (QS. Hud: 11). Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala also said:

They will be rewarded twice as much because they are patient.

“They were doubly rewarded for their patience.” (QS. Al-Qasas: 54). Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala also said:

Only people who are patient will be given their full reward without reckoning.

“Indeed, only those who are patient will receive unlimited rewards.” (QS. Az-Zumar: 10). Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala also said:

Indeed, I will reward them today because they were patient. It’s true, they are the winners.

“Indeed, I reward them this day for their patience, indeed they are the victors.” (QS. Al-Mu’minun: 111).

Cover

There are several things that can lighten the burden of trials for a believer, and strengthen his steadfastness accompanied by patience, steadfastness, sincerity, and confidence so that he does not easily get angry, complain, and despair, namely by knowing the following important facts, namely:

  1. The disaster that befalls God’s servant will not last forever, when the disaster falls, its time is determined, then it is lifted again and finished. Ibn Al-Jauzi Rahimahullah said: “Disasters have an end whose time is known with certainty by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, so that people who are given a disaster must be patient until the time of the disaster ends.” (Syaid Al-Khathir p. 155).
  2. The one who tests a servant is his Lord, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful, and Most Merciful. In the calamities that were sent down to His servants, He gave them so much good that no one but Allah could count. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has said:

Maybe you don’t like something even though it is good for you.

“It’s possible that you hate something even though it’s good for you.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 216).

So maybe you hate something and God will create a lot of good in it.

“It could be that you don’t like something even though God has made it a lot of goodness.” (QS. An-Nisa: 19).

Ibn Al-Qayyim Rahimahullah said: “Whoever knows his God directly, and understands the meaning of His names and attributes, will surely know with full confidence that everything he hates that befalls him and the calamities that befall him contain many forms of benefits and advantages that he cannot possibly count.

In fact, the benefits of a servant from things he hates are greater than the benefits from things he likes. If a servant is able to understand this reality, he will surely live in peace in this world before going to heaven in the afterlife. The pleasure of peace in this world is incomparable except with the pleasure of heaven in the afterlife, he will always feel pleased with his Lord, whereas pleasure is heaven on earth and a place of tranquility for people of understanding.

Satisfaction is the soul’s satisfaction with the fate that has befallen it, which is the essence of God’s choice for it, and the soul’s peace with the laws of His religion. This is what is meant by being pleased with Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala as his God, Islam as his religion, and Muhammad as his Messenger.” (Al-Fawaid p. 91).

Ibn Athaillah As-Sakandari Rahimahullah said: “To ease your misfortune, you must know that He is the one who tests you and He is the one who determines your fate. He is also the one who accustoms you to the best choices.” (Hikam Ibn Athaillah as-Sakandari p. 90).

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
