What is meant by takhrij hadith?

Takhrij language from the word خَرَّجَ – يُخَرِّجُ – تَخْرِيْخَا which means: issuing. Therefore we often find several translators say “This Hadith is issued by Fulan Ulama in Book A.” It means: “This hadith is takhrij by Fulan scholars in the book A.” Because of the person who mentakhrij hadith, he issued information from the books of the hadith about the hadith.

In terms, Takhrij has two meanings. First, Takhrij means to specify the books of the hadith that records a hadith complete with his sanad then explains the validity of the hadith. Second, Takhrij means mentioning sanad a hadith starting from mentioning his teacher to the tip of the sanad. The tip of this sanad can be the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, or the friends of the Prophet, or others.

Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Mahmudi in the book Al-Muyassar in Takhrijil Hadsin Nabawiy say:

“Takhrij according to the scholars of the hadith has several meanings, including:

1. Know the books of the hadith that record the hadith.

2. Know the source of the hadith by knowing who his colleague is to recite the hadith, and then find out the path (sanad) to his colleague. “

(Al-Muyassar Fi Ilmi Takhrijil Hadismin Nabawiymatter. 4).

Shaykh Dr. Ya’qub bin Abdil Wahhab said:

“Takhrij (according to the hadith scholars) is not limited to mentioning sanad alone, but also explains the state of the narrators of the hadith and explains the degree, whether strong or weak. Also explains the authentic or not the hadith.” (A-Thriji slave in Federal Football Federal.matter. 10).

The first meaning of Takhrij is the famous meaning among the scholars of Mu’ashirin (today). Shaykh Abu Syubhah explained:

“Takhrij is a hadith to the hadith that mentions them in their books. And explain the level of hadith whether authentic or dhaif.” (Hasyiyah’s book Al-Wasith Fi Ulumi Musthalahil Hadithmatter. 353).

For example, after mentioning the hadith, it was stated that the hadith was a history of al-Bukhari numbers, a Muslim history of the number, the history of At-Tirmidzi was a number of numbers. This is Takhrij Hadith.

For example, the hadith of Abu Bakr Radhiyallahu Anhu, the Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi wa Sallam said:

“It is not Muslim to sin and then he will worship, and perform two rak’ah prayers, then ask Allah Ta’ala for his sin, but Allah must forgive him.”

TAKHRIJ HADITS: “HR. Abu David no. 1521, Di Tirmidzi no. 406, An-Nasai no. Takhrij Musnad Ahmad.“

The second meaning of Takhrij is to mention sanad. As-sachawi says:

“Takhrij is a hadith that mentions the hadith of the book Al Ajza ‘, Al Masyikhat and other books by leaning them on their dissertation “(Fathul Mughits2/372).

For example, when we find the word:

“Al-Bukhari has this hadith in his authentic.”

So that is, al-Bukhari mentioned the hadith sanad from his teacher to the tip of his sanad in the book Sahih al-Bukhari.

As for the books of hadith that do not mention sanad, it should not be said that this hadith is takhrij in the book. Like the book Al-Jami Ash Shaghir As-Suyuthi job. Can’t say “This hadith narrated with As-Suyuthi in this book Al-Jami Ash Shaghir.“Because in the book, As-Suyuthi did not mention his sanad.
