Mudir Ma’had Aly Tebuireng: Open Munaqosyah Session Is Proof of Mahasantri’s Academic Quality

Tebuireng.online- Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari Tebuireng Jombang once again showed his academic prowess by holding the Munaqosyah Maftūḥah (Open) Session for the 2026/2027 Session Year. The event, which took place in the Hall on the 2nd Floor of Ma’had Aly Tebuireng, Monday (26/01/2026), was an opportunity to prove the quality of students’ research in front of external examiners.

A total of six students took the thesis exam in front of the students Mumtahin (examiner) from UIN Sunan Kudus and internal Ma’had Aly. This open session was held as part of the commitment to maintain high standards of Islamic boarding school-based higher education.

Mudir Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari, Dr. KH. Ahmad Roziqi, Lc., MHI, explained that this open session was a real implementation of the cooperation (MoU) with UIN Sunan Kudus which had been initiated since the leadership era of KH. Nur Hanan.

Kiai Roziqi emphasized that this policy adheres to the principles of Al-Muhafadzatu ‘ala al-Qadimi al-Shalih wa al-Akhdzu bi al- Jadidi al-Ashlah. “We want to broadcast that Ma’had Aly is a higher education Islamic boarding school that is ready to have its quality tested by external institutions,” he stressed.

According to him, the involvement of examiners from UIN Kudus is proof of the transparency and academic readiness of the students. “Thank God, “From year to year, the quality of our students has been proven to be excellent,” added Kiai Roziqi.

High appreciation also came from the Chancellor of UIN Sunan Kudus, Prof. Dr. H. Abdurrohman Kasdi, Lc., M.Si. He admitted that he was satisfied with the achievements of the Tebuireng students, especially in terms of literacy and writing scientific papers.

“I am very happy and satisfied to see the quality of student Ma’had Aly, especially in the aspect of writing scientific papers in Arabic. “In general, the academic achievements shown are very worthy of pride,” said Prof. Abdurrahman.

“We hope that in the future we can prove that Ma’had Aly has the right to achieve the title mumtÄz through improving the quality of literature, research, and strengthening other scientific treasures,” said Mudir Ma’had Aly.

Apart from collaborating with UIN Sunan Kudus, Ma’had Aly Hasyim Asy’ari also collaborates with various well-known universities, such as UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA). A number of Ma’had Aly muá¸¥Ä á¸ ir and academics have also participated in the LPDP program under the supervision of the Ministry of Religion, and have been involved in international academic networks in various countries, such as Malaysia, Morocco and Egypt, and received appreciation from international figure Sayyid Muhammad al-GhÄ ri.

“These achievements are important capital for us to maintain and develop the quality of Islamic boarding school higher education so that it becomes more competitive at national and international levels,” concluded Kiai Roziqi.
