Gathering of Wali Santri Middle School AWH, Introducing New Programs and Disciplines

Tebuireng.online– Ahmad Wahid Hasyim Middle School (SMP AWH) Tebuireng held a friendly activity with Wali Santri on Thursday (3/7/2025) in the school yard. This event is a follow -up to the meeting of the guardians of the santri with the caregiver of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, which aims to equalize the vision of education between the school and parents.

In his remarks, the Head of AWH Middle School, Dwi Rahmad Siswoyo, S.Pd., expressed his gratitude for the trust given by parents to the pesantren. He stressed the importance of the first 41 day adaptation period without direct communication between students and guardians.

“If Njenengan Mboten Tatak, his son is to electrocate. Let children learn independently first,” he said with a typical Javanese accent, inviting guardians of santri to provide space for independence for their children.

He also explained that communication in an emergency should only be done through the homeroom teacher or guardian of the room. In addition, the school is now tightening SPP payment rules. If there are arrears for three consecutive months, the guardian will be called for clarification.

“Every school activity and security is monitored through CCTV. Severe violations such as stealing will be subject to strict sanctions,” he said.

Furthermore, Dwi Rahmad requested that the achievements of students be reported to schools so that they could be selected to take part in various competitions.

Meanwhile, Deputy Principal for Curriculum, Eni Mu’tamaroh Imami, S.Si., S.Pd., explained that AWH Middle School now carries a new vision, which is to become a superior school based on research and environmental or adiwiyata. He added that the plants brought by Wali Santri will be used as an environment -based learning media.

Eni also explained that the school had implemented an independent curriculum with the habituation of religious activities such as Dhuha prayers, Istighosah, and Khitobah every morning. Regarding the competition, he delivered two paths of participation for students.

“There is an internal selection path financed by schools, and independent pathways that can still get guidance from teachers,” he explained.

On the other hand, the Deputy Principal for Student Affairs, Muhammad Hafidz, SHI, stressed the importance of following official licensing procedures. He stressed that violations in the cottage also apply in the school environment.

“Tebuireng did not tolerate bullying. In the past 18 students offender were immediately issued,” he said firmly.

Closing the event, several santri guardians expressed their views. One of them, Vivi Astonis Laili from Kalimantan, said that he brought his son in Tebuireng to seek blessings and train independence.

“If you look at the founder genealogy who is, God willing, can be blessing,” he said.

Another guardian of students, parents of Abiyu from Solo, hopes that their children can grow into religious and noble people.

Previously, in his remarks at the Ulul Albab Mosque, representative of the santri guardian, Kiai Imam, advised that all the shortcomings in the pesantren were not spread out.

“If there are ugly tebuireng, don’t spread. Let’s maintain the good name of Hadratussyaikh,” he ordered.
