Assistance Continues, Clean Water and Worship Tools for Residents Affected by Floods in Aceh, Sumatra

Bandung, 14 January 2026 – Insan Bumi Mandiri (IBM) continues to distribute humanitarian aid to residents affected by floods in Aceh through the distribution of clean water and religious equipment. This assistance is a continuation of an initiative that is still ongoing today, along with the opening of humanitarian support to reach more affected areas. A total of 9 villages have been reached through the distribution of this aid.

A total of 7 villages in Aceh Province have become clean water distribution points. Kampung Masjid and Tanjung Village each received three clean water tanks with a capacity of 1,800 liters per tank which were used by around 150 families. Lama Village and Alur Nunang Village received two clean water tanks with a capacity of 1,400 liters per tank which reached around 80 families. Meanwhile, Cinta Raja Village, Rantau Pakam Village and Teluk Halban Village received three clean water tanks with a capacity of 1,800 liters which were used by around 180 families.

Apart from clean water, Insan Bumi Mandiri also distributed 25 pairs of prayer equipment to residents affected by flooding in Karang Baru and Paya Village. This assistance was received directly by 25 beneficiaries who are currently still living in the refugee area.

The flood disaster that hit Aceh caused damage to clean water sources, road access was covered in mud, and limited electricity in a number of areas. This condition means that meeting people’s basic needs, including clean water and religious equipment, is very limited.

“Clean water is the most urgent need for residents after the flood. Through this assistance, we hope to help people survive amidst limitations and support the gradual recovery process. We are continuing to distribute this aid so that the benefits can reach more affected areas,” said Budi Dharma, an Insan Bumi Mandiri volunteer from North Sumatra.

Insan Bumi Mandiri emphasized that the process of distributing humanitarian aid in Aceh is still ongoing and the opening of aid is still ongoing.
