The spirit of independence, santri Putra Tebuireng Adu Creativity in the August 17 race

Tebuireng.online– In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Putra Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School held various special competitions at the junior high school level. The event lasted for two days, from 17 to 18 August 2025, which was welcomed by the students.

This race is centered in the cottage area with a unique concept, which is a competition between rooms and between floors in each santri guesthouse. Ustadz Isnan Badarudin Kamal as the person in charge of the activity said that this event not only became entertainment, but also trained the togetherness and sportsmanship of students.

“This race is designed so that students can feel the excitement of independence day while learning to work together, fight, and uphold the value of sportsmanship,” he said.

The competition category between rooms presents various branches that trigger the spirit as well as the laughter of the audience. Among them are acing sack racing, racing pangolin, eating crackers with eyes closed, taking water with funnels, blind volleyball and inserting pencils into bottles. Each room represents the best santri to win the race.

Meanwhile, the race between floors tests the teamwork through a Squid Games or Squid Games, which is the competition of four people with bound legs that have to go through four stages, namely throwing sandals, juggling balls 5 times, flip bottles 2 times, and wind blowing. In addition, there is a unique competition and invites cheers and tension that is another, namely inserting the eel into the bottle.

The race activity was closed by giving prizes to the winners as a form of appreciation and motivation.
