Surah Al-Ikhlas; Four short verses, become the most favorite reading of prayer during prayer. However, he is able to provide a very deep content which is the basis of Islamic faith. Covering the wave of uncertainty, we often hope and support a place to rely on, but is that place very worthy to be supported? So Surah Al-Ikhlas will answer with the contents of the meaning of monotheism in the Koran. Not only discussing the definition of God in Islam, but also provides an understanding of logical that can damage all forms of deviations in the concept of divinity, and lead our hearts to rely solely on God Almighty.
In the Hadith History of Imam Bukhari no. 6643 and Muslim Imam no. 811, the messenger of God (may peace on it) says:
“Indeed, the letter ‘Qul Huwallahu Sunday’ matches the third of the Qur’an. “
The hadith shows that the position of Surah Al-Ikhlas is very special in the Koran. Imam al-Nawawi explained that the concept of ‘third’ did not discuss the number of verses or lafadz, except the contents of Islamic teachings in the Koran in line with three main themes; Monoteism (Faith), Sharia (Law) and Qashash (Story). In general, Surah Al-Ikhlas contains the teachings of monotheism.
First sentence contents:

Say: God is one
It means: “Say (Muhammad) He is God, the only one.“
According to Fakhruddin Ar-Razi in Tafsir al-KabirThe word ‘Sunday’ contains the meaning of the perfect oneness, cannot be divided and is not divided and does not have allies. Unlike the ‘Wahid’ which is numerical and can be divided. This gives an affirmation and understanding of Uluhiyyah monotheism and monotheism Rububiyyah that is, only God is the only God who is worshiped and only God has, creates and regulates everything that exists in the universe. This verse contains the concept of monotheism, namely rejecting all kinds of shirk, both shirk in worship, shirk in nature and shirk in creation.
The contents of the second verse:
اللَّلَّهُ
It means: “God is a place to depend on everything.“
In interpretation Ibn Kathir Explain the word ‘as-samad’ which only appears once in the Koran is interpreted as the Essence of the Most Perfect in all His characteristics and does not need anything from His creatures, while all beings really need Him. This teaches total submission to God’s power. From this verse the book can learn to train the heart that the location of hoping and leaning is only to Allah SWT not to creatures who are the source of disappointment. Never assume that God needs us to be worshiped, because God does not need worship from His creatures. Allah SWT does not depend on anyone, either with or without worship of His creatures. God is not disadvantaged by kufr and does not benefit from worship. Worship is not a need of Allah SWT but the need for the creature itself to find the meaning of life, instructions, and salvation.
Third verse contents:
He did not give birth and was not born
It means: “He (Allah) does not have children and is not buried.“
This verse is an affirmation and rebuttal to beliefs that assume that God has offspring. Like the doctrine of Trinity in Christianity which believes that Jesus is the ‘Son of God’. This concept is firmly rejected in Islam, because it assumes God has a biological or descendant relationship. In the interpretation of Al-Qurthubi, Al-Jami ‘Li Ahkam Al-Qur’an, AR-RISALAH MASSASAHJuz 20 that Allah does not give birth, because there is nothing equal to Him, there is no need for Him to have offspring. And God was not born because if he came from something before, it means he is not the early and eternal God. This is very clearly contrary to His nature of the Holy and Most Eternal.
The contents of the fourth verse:
And he has no adequacy
It means: “And no one is equivalent to Him.“
This verse teaches us about monotheism Asthma ‘wa traits Namely believes that Allah SWT is different from His creatures. There is no creature that can be equivalent to Him. Also believes that Allah SWT has absolute names and perfection. This verse firmly becomes an important point in building creed. So that we can stay away and reject the understanding that forgot God with creatures (tasybih) or deny His attributes (ta’thil). The interpretation of Ibn Sa’di stated that he had no one who was equivalent to Him both in the name, nature or deed.
From these four verses, quoting the conclusion that Surah al-Ikhlas even in that verse there is no word ‘sincere’ but it can give a very deep meaning. This teaches us the true meaning of sincerity in worshiping the Creator. And this surah also gives us an understanding that only God is an absolute place that we expect and can appreciate faith and believe that there is no God worthy of worship except God Almighty. By understanding the contents of this chapter, we are invited to purify a deviant understanding of federation and the absence of God Almighty. Surah al-Ikhlas is not only a favorite reading in prayer, but also the essence of sincerity and sincerity in the worship of God Almighty.
