Tell the uniqueness of the short story, Gadiza is grateful to win the championship at FLS3N Jombang

Tebuireng.online– The Jombang Regency Education and Culture Office again held the National Student Arts and Literature Competition Festival (FLS3N), which brought together talented students from various schools in Jombang. One of the schools that took part in this prestigious event was Trensains High School Jombok. In the short story writing competition, Gadiza Fatimah Azzahra, a 11th grade student, succeeded in making the name of the school by winning 2nd place in the competition, on Friday (6/13/2025).

Before representing Trensains High School at the district level, Gadiza first participated in internal selection at school. He got the theme “Inspiration of the Country and Concern” which he later processed into a move that was inspiring. In the short story he wrote in the preliminary round, Gadiza raised the story of a young man from a located family who chose to become a volunteer (volunteer) in areas classified as 3T: lagging, foremost, and outermost.

The main characters in the story describe the deep inner journey, until finally finding true meaning of social contribution. “Working in a distant place is not upgraded to learn, and take the meaning of the inspiration of the country and its concern by building an organization,” said Gadiza when telling the fictional figure in his story, (15/6).

In the district level competition, Gadiza got two hours to write short stories directly at the race site. The theme given is random, and at that time he got the theme “embracing differences”.

“When I got the theme, I thought of raising the story of Kong Hu Chu’s religion, but in its technical guidelines it should not contain SARA. Finally I took the difference in the caste of the elite and natives, how to equalize education,” he explained.

The choice of the theme is motivated by his desire to write a story that is able to liberate not only the characters in the story, but also inspire the reader. In the story he wrote, Gadiza created a character named Galih, a young man from the lower caste who later met a woman, his friend who had already been “independent” by establishing a school for the lower class community.

“In his writing there is a character whose name is Galih, then meet with a woman who has been independent by making a school for the lower caste. From there Galih wants to make a book to show the elite that natives can also,” he said enthusiastically.

Although the available time is very limited, Gadiza successfully completed its short story with the number of words in accordance with the committee’s provisions, which is at least 1,000 words. “The most difficult difficulty is the time, at least 1000 words, shocked still need to adapt, but I don’t know yesterday that my brain was immediately disbursed, the idea continued to exist,” he said with a smile.

The short story writing competition was attended by 36 participants from various schools. Gadiza claimed to be very grateful to be part of the competition, as well as having the opportunity to meet and learn from other participants. “Be happy to meet other great people, being able to see from other people who are more powerful make us want to learn to continue learning instead of inferior,” he said.

As a young writer, Gadiza has great hopes to continue to pursue the world of literacy. He dreamed that someday he could publish books that can be read by many people and become an eternal work.

“Hopefully it can continue to write, because a writing will be eternal and carve a work with it, and I really want to make books that can be read by many people,” he concluded.
