The practice of Thaharah provided the new students to live in the pesantren

Tebuireng.online— Strengthening Ubudiyah Santri with direct purification practice (Thaharah), is an important part of the series of new santri orientation events (Mosba). This practice is guided by Ustadz Ni’am, which aims to equip new students with basic understanding of worship practices.

This Thaharah practical activity was carried out after the evening prayer ‘and was attended by high school level students, at the Tebuireng Putra Mosque, Saturday (5/7/2025). Before the practice began, Ustadz Ni’am explained in detail the theory of purification fiqh ranging from ablution, tayamum, mandatory bathing, various kinds of unclean to cleaning it.

“Thaharah is the foundation in worship. If the purity is not true, the worship is invalid. Then it is mandatory for every santri to understand and practice Toharoh correctly,” said Ustadz Ni’am.

After the presentation of the material, continued with the demonstration of ablution, by inviting representatives of students to practice one by one. The new santri looked very enthusiastic to follow this practice. Not a few who first know the details of the procedures for ablution or the difference between mild and heavy unclean. Before the event was closed, a question and answer session was held with students.

This activity not only emphasizes the legal side of fiqh, but also builds spiritual awareness and the responsibility of students in maintaining cleanliness in Islamic boarding schools.

Ending the practice, Ustadz Ni’am gave one of the quotes from the caregiver of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School namely “Pondok Holidays, Don’t Be Holidays Ngaji”. Ustadz Ni’am emphasized that Tebuireng students must continue to enthusiasm for learning and actualize the learning that has been received both when at pesantren and at home.
